(Stuttgart) – The 2021 Biotech Days (DBT) will be held in Stuttgart on 20 and 21 September 2021. Following the coronavirus-related cancellation of DBT 2020 in Wiesbaden, the event was initially rescheduled for April 2021, but has had to be postponed to the following autumn. The German Biotech Days will be staged in Stuttgart next year by BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, and jointly organised by BIO Deutschland and the Council of BioRegions. The partner region is the Konstanz-based BioLAGO e.V. health network.
Dr. Janin Sameith, project manager for Life Sciences and Bioeconomy at Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH, is looking to the future, even though coronavirus meant it was not possible to hold the 2020 Biotech Days in Wiesbaden as planned. „The German Biotech Days are Germany’s largest event in the biotechnology sector. We would have relished the opportunity to welcome representatives from the extremely vibrant German life sciences community,“ says Dr. Sameith. „I’m now pleased to pass the baton to Dr. Klaus Eichenberg from BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, which will be hosting the Biotech Days in Stuttgart.“
The conference initially planned for April was put on hold once again – and finally delayed until 20 and 21 September 2021. „We want to ensure planning certainty for everyone involved, which is why we opted for autumn next year,“ explains host and Managing Director Dr. Eichenberg. „We’re very confident that, after a long interval, the 2021 Biotech Days in Stuttgart will once again be a great success.“ All the organisers insist that it is innovations from biotechnology in particular that will help overcome the coronavirus pandemic.
The German Biotech Days are co-organised by BIO Deutschland and the Council of BioRegions. The normally annual two-day conference is regarded as the most important forum for all members of the German biotechnology sector to share experiences and is a central meeting point for entrepreneurs, researchers and partners from politics, development institutions and administration.
